Returning to the Temple...

Returning to the Temple...

Take a moment to pause, close your eyes and imagine...

You arrive at dusk - a sacred time when the veils are thin - and are lovingly welcomed at the gateway to the Holy
Temple by a Priestess adorned in flowing robes, bells on her ankles and a warm smile of greeting.

The sounds of the evening and soft music escaping from behind the Temple doors arouse your senses with wonder, curiosity and delight.

Her presence is love soaked as she gently guides you to remove your shoes so your feet may greet the beloved Earth
beneath you in a lingering embrace. Feeling Mother Gaia under you - receiving you wholeheartedly - allows for an unraveling to
begin deep in your bones and you intuitively exhale with a sigh of deep pleasure and contentment.

SIMPLICITY IS THE MEDICINE HUMANITY NEEDS RIGHT NOW

SIMPLICITY IS THE MEDICINE HUMANITY NEEDS RIGHT NOW

(A mantra I’ve been living by for a while that feels SO pertinent right now!)

I’ve been quiet over on Social Media of late – digesting the unfolding events in my own gentle way. Needing more space than ever to process what’s going down, to prioritise practises that anchor me back into my body and to find solace and sanctuary in the loving embrace of nature (plus a shit load of sanity too!)

It feels like someone turned the volume WAY up high in FB and now the control is broken and stuck! It’s normally noisy but this is a whole new level of LOUD – and honestly my system is struggling with all the extra activation, so I’ve opted out of mindless scrolling and am choosing radical self-care offline instead.

Whilst many have made the choice to practise ‘social distancing’ I’ve also been practising ‘social media distancing’ – and damn does it feel good!

CONNECTING WOMEN WITH THE WISDOM OF THEIR BODY - Musings on burn out, body image and being BRAVE

CONNECTING WOMEN WITH THE WISDOM OF THEIR BODY - Musings on burn out, body image and being BRAVE

Feeling disconnected with my body used to be a way of life for me. So conditioned by our culture to look and be a certain way I approached my body as something to manipulate and manage - a thing I could mould so I would look the part and fit in to society's idea of Woman.

In my twenties I spent hours at the gym 6 days a week - pushing and punishing my body until she rewarded me with just the right lift of my butt and tone of my abs - and honestly, I LOVED it! I loved the way my body looked - but I couldn't really FEEL her.

On being a SUCCULENT WOMAN - tools for staying JUICY as we age

On being a SUCCULENT WOMAN - tools for staying JUICY as we age

Turning 47 a few weeks and in the throes of perimenopause it's become clear to me through my own embodied experience and speaking to older women who've traversed this journey that one of the things so many women fear about menopause and getting older is that they will no longer be JUICY.

The overwhelming feeling and response is that they will hit the dreaded M word and suddenly become dry, brittle old ladies with less energy, less value to offer - and a less than 'moist' vagina!

They're afraid that their zest for life - their vitality - will dry up like a parched desert and their days will be spent ruminating on how things used to be when they were young and luscious.

They fear that words like moist, juicy and succulent will no longer apply to them!

So - I want to open up a conversation about the collective and cultural perspective we - as women - have around ageing because this conversation NEEDS to be out in the light not hidden away in the shadows.
